Johnson Education Foundation are preparing for the 35th Annual MLK Commemorative Luncheon and 17th Annual MLK Leadership Forum and hope you are able to attend! Join Fraternity members and the Orlando Mayor’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commission to celebrate what would be Dr. King’s 92nd birthday.

In his “Justice Without Violence: speech delivered on April 3, 1957, Dr. King asked the following question:

In the light of the fact that the oppressed people of the world are rising up against that oppression; in the light of the fact that the American Negro is rising up against his oppression, the question is this: How will the struggle for justice be waged? And I think that is one of the most important questions confronting our generation. As we move to make justice a reality on the international scale, as we move to make justice a reality in this nation, how will the struggle be waged?

As we examine this question and the issues surrounding it, the theme for this year’s Luncheon and Forum is: “Peace Is Not Simply The Absence Of Conflict, But The Existence Of Justice For All People”

At the Luncheon, community leaders and organizations will be recognized for their contributions to the community with the prestigious DRUM MAJOR AWARD! Categories are Scholarship (student), Civic Affairs, Social Justice, Community Service and Business. Proceeds from this event provide college scholarships to local students, fund the Young Men of Distinction mentoring program and provide support to other educational initiatives of the Foundation.
